I Published my First Book

I published Infinite Vampire I: BLOOD 4 LIFE on May 7, 2017. I told about 15k people about it, and had 150 people buy the book! (1%). As of this writing, approximately five weeks after publishing, BLOOD 4 LIFE has 33 reviews and an average rating of 4.8 stars. Next week I’ll be publishing the sequel, Infinite Vampire II: QUEEN’S GAMBIT, and I’m very excited. Each new book–and all the effort put into the launch and marketing–helps boost the first book.    So far, any income generated has paled in comparison to the money spent on actually making professional books,…

QG Editing Update!

I just finished the second editing pass of Infinite Vampire II: Queen’s Gambit! Here are some stats on its progressed so far: After 1st WRITE, wordcount was 135,000. Because I was still working at a “real” job, I didn’t track my hours and just wrote whenever I could. I can safely say that it at least took 200 hours. After 1st EDIT, wordcount was 130,000. I spent 50 hours on the pass. After 2nd EDIT, wordcount was 142,000. I spent 80 hours on the pass. Weird, right? My Self-Editing Checklist – It Might Help You!

Editing is important and challenging. I’ve got about 200,000 words to put through the editing ringer before February. That’s a lot, but it’s okay: I have a plan. Every editing session, I start by reviewing 20 editing ‘rules’ that I find important. The items on the list below don’t have a ton of explanation, but I tried to throw some examples in to help. Editing, Editing, and more Editing Blood 4 Life

I recently finished the first draft of INFINITE VAMPIRE: QUEEN’S GAMBIT!!! Then, I switched back to editing Blood 4 Life. You may remember, because I know that you and your entire group of friends follow my work and progress relentlessly, that after a third or fourth draft of Blood for Life, I paused on it to write the sequel.
