Three Weeks After 1st Launch

I launched my first book, Infinite Vampire I: BLOOD 4 LIFE three weeks ago, and although sales have been low, they’re meeting my expectations (my very very very low expectations). Many an experienced self- or indy-published author will tell you that the first book never does much until it has sequels. Some even advise not advertising until there are four or more books in the series released. I’m using the time now to run tests, and I’m okay with using this time as a loss-leader; to lose money but gain a future benefit. Alright, so here are the numbers so…

QG Editing Update!

I just finished the second editing pass of Infinite Vampire II: Queen’s Gambit! Here are some stats on its progressed so far: After 1st WRITE, wordcount was 135,000. Because I was still working at a “real” job, I didn’t track my hours and just wrote whenever I could. I can safely say that it at least took 200 hours. After 1st EDIT, wordcount was 130,000. Then I spent a week scanning all the images, photoshopping any errors, and putting together a pdf.…

Copy Editing and Proofreading

I’ve edited Infinite Vampire I: Blood 4 Life about twenty times. I’ve read it probably thirty times, and I’ve sent it out to twenty people to get their feedback on it. And I paid an editor I found on Reedsy to go through it… WOW. I thought it was clean, and there’s so much RED on my pages it’s almost a like a demon rave or something. Lots of suggestions, and all in all I bet they’ll make the book that much more face-punchingly awesome. In a couple weeks I’ll finish Infinite Vampire III: Maelstrom, and then I’ll do one last…
