I Published my First Book

I published Infinite Vampire I: BLOOD 4 LIFE on May 7, 2017. I told about 15k people about it, and had 150 people buy the book! (1%). As of this writing, approximately five weeks after publishing, BLOOD 4 LIFE has 33 reviews and an average rating of 4.8 stars. Next week I’ll be publishing the sequel, Infinite Vampire II: QUEEN’S GAMBIT, and I’m very excited. Each new book–and all the effort put into the launch and marketing–helps boost the first book.    So far, any income generated has paled in comparison to the money spent on actually making professional books,…

QG Editing Update!

I just finished the second editing pass of Infinite Vampire II: Queen’s Gambit! Here are some stats on its progressed so far: After 1st WRITE, wordcount was 135,000. Because I was still working at a “real” job, I didn’t track my hours and just wrote whenever I could. I can safely say that it at least took 200 hours. After 1st EDIT, wordcount was 130,000. I spent 50 hours on the pass. After 2nd EDIT, wordcount was 142,000. I spent 80 hours on the pass. Weird, right? Well, Queen’s Gambit is a thriller, and I sent it out to my beta readers after the first edit pass. They…

Then I hired a young woman with robot-perfect handwriting (in my opinion) to transcribe it. Then I planned and drew over two dozen custom illustrations to add into the book. Then I spent a week scanning all the images, photoshopping any errors, and putting together a pdf.…

Copy Editing and Proofreading

I’ve edited Infinite Vampire I: Blood 4 Life about twenty times. I’ve read it probably thirty times, and I’ve sent it out to twenty people to get their feedback on it. And I paid an editor I found on Reedsy to go through it… WOW. I thought it was clean, and there’s so much RED on my pages it’s almost a like a demon rave or something. Lots of suggestions, and all in all I bet they’ll make the book that much more face-punchingly awesome. In a couple weeks I’ll finish Infinite Vampire III: Maelstrom, and then I’ll do one last…
